Inclusion
Inclusion
At Temple Beth Am Religious School, we're committed to making sure that all Jewish students are able to receive a Jewish education that is meaningful for them and includes them in all areas of temple life. Parents with children who have special needs are invited to consult with us to help find ways in which their children can be most successful in the classroom.
The Inclusion Program
This dynamic program now accounts for almost 25% of Religious School enrollment at Temple Beth Am, serving students with all types of disabilities, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, and other issues that challenge students in school. In addition to providing accessible learning in Religious School, the Inclusion Program reaches into all areas of temple life, including our thriving youth groups, B'nai Mitzvah, family programs, and more, with the goal of consistently including all member families in meaningful participation at Temple Beth Am. The program serves all students who desire a Jewish education, especially those who may have experienced exclusion due to their disabilities. Through the years, the Inclusion Program at Temple Beth Am has evolved steadily in its core concepts of teacher education, consistent classroom support, teaming with parents, and adherence to a strict policy of confidentiality.
